I really love this photo because it really represents the type of person my mother is. She bought this dumb little toy camera for me becuse she knows it's something I like. She always gets me these little things that remind me she knows who I am, which I love.

This greenhouse made me think of dread and death despite it being a greenhouse. This is sort of how my childhood was. It was supposed to be a flourishing greenhouse, but all I could think about was how afraid I was of dying. It's dumb but I think this photo captures that well.

I was excited to take this photo because I loved how much it reminded me of my grandfather, always trudging us through the pasture to feed the animals. The world seemed a lot bigger then, and I seemed so small. I like how the people in the photo seem so tiny.
The first photo does a great job of balancing tone with content. We get a sense of the emotion underlying the relationship in the photo because of the color, framing, and fact that it involves a photo printed on film. At the same time, we get a sense of the happiness and closeness of the relationship, and that that relationship is important, because of the expressions of the people in the photo. Nice job communicating a lot of information in a simple way.
ReplyDeleteThe second photo does a great job with design principles. The color, shape, texture, line, and surroundings all work together to create a sense of dread and foreboding from this setting. The fact that it's centered and essentially symmetrical makes it seem even more menacing.
Your third photo really gives a sense of story, like you said. I want to know where these characters are coming from and where they're going. This feels like a frame from a movie that, if I keep watching, will give me this information. I like how you pointed out their size. This really establishes their connection and place in this location.
